"Kou (Sterling Callender) - previously called Fakekou - is a fascinating, hardcore world music artist who has taken the world by storm. Born in Marabella, South Trinidad, he established an outstanding career for seventeen (17) years and counting in the United States and the United Kingdom, creating a fusion of soca and world music.He made a name for himself in the music industry, collaborating with many DJs and Producers, such as K. Warren, Herbertskillz, M4, Dr. Lord Nelson, and Kojo. One of Kou's production homes, and the very place where the music magic happens, is HTown Studios in Brooklyn, New York. Kou's songs include Roll & Wine, Ah Too Old (remix), Disco Daddy (Afrobeat remix), and Not Ah Problem, to name a few. He is renowned for his unwavering dedication to preserving soca music and his honour and respect for the foundational artists who paved the way for him. Kou continues to draw on the inspiration of legendary artists and his life experiences, using it to tell stories that resonate with his fans while inventing an infectious amalgamation of soca and world music, creating seamless blends and establishing a unique sound.
